Strengthening Support in Chaves County: Partnering with the City of Roswell to Serve Local Veterans

At the New Mexico Veterans Integration Centers, our vision has always been to help ensure that veterans across every corner of our state have seamless access to housing, supportive services, and community resources. Today, we are thrilled to share an exciting milestone in our continued efforts to expand our reach into southeastern New Mexico: a new collaborative partnership with the City of Roswell.

A New Dedicated Resource Hub for Roswell Veterans

Ensuring that service members, veterans, and military families can easily find reliable assistance when they need it is critical. The City of Roswell has officially established a dedicated Veteran Services page on their official website, accessible directly under the Living in Roswell directory.

This new directory serves as a central clearinghouse for local veteran resources, and we are honored to have our contact information and program details featured to assist residents seeking support.

Deepening Connections Across Municipal Departments

Our collaboration with city leadership extends well beyond a web directory listing. To ensure municipal employees and local leadership are fully equipped to assist veterans in their daily workflows and community interactions, the City of Roswell is taking proactive steps across several departments:

  • Departmental Awareness: Information and resource materials are being distributed across city directorships and placed directly in employee break rooms to help city staff identify and assist veterans in need.

  • Internal Advocacy: In coordination with Roswell’s Human Resources leadership, internal outreach will foster awareness among municipal staff and veteran employees.

  • Civic & Community Engagement: Through coordination with the City Clerk’s office, plans are underway to explore formal community outreach presentations at upcoming City Council meetings, ensuring direct dialogue with city leaders and residents.

Looking Ahead in Southeastern New Mexico

This initiative represents a significant step in expanding supportive networks throughout Chaves County and surrounding areas. By building strong ties with municipal partners like Roswell, we are establishing the groundwork for sustainable, long-term support for veterans transitioning to civilian life or seeking stability and assistance.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the leaders and staff at the City of Roswell for their dedication, hospitality, and proactive support of New Mexico’s veteran community.
